One correction: this watch is not part of the James Bond series. Other than that, it is a beautiful piece of watchmaking. The photos on this page do not show the fine attention to detail Omega puts into this watch. Accurate to 99.99% (it will gain or lose 4 minutes/month), this is one truly classic watch. It is indeed heavy, but although it is 41 mm diameter it looks very sleek. I bought mine through Amazon, and delivery and service were great. Mine actually has the blue rubber strap, which I think looks better than the metal band. As a diver, it is great under water, where it is still very visible. The only other watch that I would put close to this one is the Rolex Submariner, which would be its peer. At half the price, the Omega is a great quality watch which, with a little care, will probably outlive me. My nephew has already requested it as inheritance, and with its classic, timeless look, I am sure he will be a proud owner once I pass it to him.

Seamaster Watch review
This is an excellent watch. We bought it for my father in law and he loves it.

Bought this watch about 1 month ago. I literally wore this watch on one wrist and the submariner on the other wrist at my jewlers for about 1 hour trying to decide. Comfort, readability and style all won out and I bought the Omega Chrono Diver. This watch has an automatic movement with a 44 hour power reserve. Love the blue face and the skeleton hands are very unique and make using the chronograph a breeze and reading time very easy. This watch is very substantial/heavy so if you have small wrists it may not be the watch for your. Has great weight and balance to it. The watch looks classic, I wear it to work (dress slacks and button up shirt) and with jeans and a T-shirt it still goes well.I believe that for the price you would be hard pressed to do much better.

As Christmas 2006 was nearing I went on a ‘watch’ frenzy I ended up buying this watch for $3400.00 at the time. Although this isn’t a light watch, it has about the same heft as a Rolex 16710 GMTII (currently discontinued in favour of the 11671X with Ceramic bezels).
The design on this is now dated. Serrated edge of the bezel is inferior to the coin edge that one finds on the Planet Ocean and on almost all the sport Rolexes. With a Co-axial movement, only time will tell if George Daniel’s design holds any water in the long term (especially with their marketing strategy of Co-axial == less frequent servicing).
On this topic, many Rolex owners have had their pieces ticking for well over 20 years without a single service. It is definitely NOT recommended, but it’s been done and it works.
The bracelet design is terribly dated, screw pins are a must today (as found on many better brands). At this price point there is no point even attempting to say “As far as time keeping goes…” because in that case one would only stick to quartz pieces from Timex or Casio.
The rate per day was not stunning, around +4 to +3/s day was the most it could do. My 3186 based GMTIIC (116713) does -1s/day and has been this way ever since I got it. I’m sure I can get it running spot on +1s/day after sending it in for a regulation.
In conclusion, it is a decent Omega, but due to its well dated design (far too dated to call it classic…it will never be a “classic”) I’d put my money elsewhere but at the end of the day buy the watch that “sings to you”.
Kind regards
Mike

OMEGA SEAMASTER - A GREAT WATCH
I’ve had this watch for two years now and love it. It looks like a quality instrument but not ostentatious like a Rolex.

Omega:very poor quality and zero customer support
I purchased a Seamaster in June 07; it broke by Mar 08. When I asked for warranty repair, the repair center said I had to pay $400 because I lost a card that was supposed to come…
